Brazilian fruits can fight chronic disease

A recent study published in the Journal 'Foods' explores the effects of certain fruits from Brazil on gut bacteria and non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs). Fruits like acerola, açaí, guava, jabuticaba, baru, buriti, juçara, and passion fruit have properties that can improve gut health and help fight NCDs. These fruits contain dietary fibers and phenolic compounds that promote a healthy gut microbiome, fight inflammation, and act as antioxidants. They also aid in the absorption of fats and carbohydrates, manage sugar levels, and improve metabolic activities.
